Milwaukee M12 Axis Heated Vest Review
The Milwaukee M12 Heated Vest Axis Kit is one of our favorite heated vests on the market. The durable, water resistant shell and quick-heating carbon fiber panels make this the perfect choice for working outdoors during cold weather.
The M12 heated vest has two main heating zones – one on the front of the chest and one across the back. The heating elements use top of the line carbon fiber technology and are woven between the outer shell and the insulated lining. These heating elements generate a large amount of heat and distribute it evenly across your body’s core, keeping you safe when it’s cold outside.
Heat Control Settings
Milwaukee’s one-touch LED controller lets you quickly cycle through its three heat output settings: high, medium, and low. The M12 logo (located on the left side of the chest) acts as the LED controller and changes color between red, white, and blue.
This most recent version of Milwaukee’s heated vest has a quick-heating function that heats up three times faster than earlier models. Through firmware updates and electronic upgrades, Milwaukee was able to cut the heating time down from eight minutes to just 2.5 minutes.
Battery and Runtime
The Milwaukee Heated Vest Axis Kit comes with an M12 REDLITHIUM 1.5 Compact Battery and includes a charger and adapter. The runtime with the included 1.5 battery is as follows:
- 6 hours – Low
- 3.5 hours – Medium
- 2 hours – High
Water and Wind Resistant Material
Milwaukee’s Axis heated clothing line is constructed of a ripstop polyester material. It’s soft, lightweight, and durable. The compressible material is flexible and repels water, making it perfect as an outer shell or mid-layer heated vest.
There are four total pockets – two in front, one on the inside, and one rear battery pocket. The pocket lining is made of soft fleece and does a great job of keeping your hands warm. They’re also deep and they zip shut. You can easily fit a hat and gloves inside and the zipper ensures that they won’t fall out and get lost.
Milwaukee’s heated clothing is washer and dryer safe. Simply follow these instructions:
- Disconnect battery.
- Push power cord into pocket and zip it closed.
- Machine wash warm on gentle cycle.
- Hang to dry.
- Do not bleach, twist, wring, iron, or dry clean.
All Milwaukee heated clothing has a one year warranty.

Why should I buy a Milwaukee heated vest?
A lot of people overlook heated vests as an option to keep warm. If you’re operating tools, swinging an axe, or doing any other sort of physical activity outside, then the Milwaukee heated vest has the clear advantage. Its sleeveless design allows for maximum range of motion without sacrificing the warmth of a jacket.
